“So, Fayanna, why do you swallow our prey whole?” Vivian asked, as she walked alongside Fayanna, her plant-tail swaying from side to side with each curious step.
Fayanna paused, glancing back at her apprentice with a small smile.
“Well, to put it simply,” she began, her tails flicking behind her, “every living being has a soul. Normally, when they die, that soul moves on to the afterlife.”
She turned, tapping a claw lightly against Vivian’s belly. “But if a predator swallows their prey whole, something different happens.
Their soul doesn’t pass on, it gets trapped inside you. Specifically, in your Predscape.”

“Predscape?” Vivian blinked.
“Think of it as a little world inside of you," Fayanna explained. "While they’re in there, their soul gives you strength, energy and power.
And the best part?” she added with a wink. “You can bring them back. Reform them. Set them free again and give them a second chance.”
Vivian’s eyes lit up in wonder. “So how do I get to my Predscape?”
Fayanna chuckled warmly. “First, you have to swallow some prey whole, sweetheart. After that, it’ll take some guidance and a bit of practice to to access it.”
The Kitsunes floofy ears perked up suddenly, twitching at a sound in the brush. “Speaking of practice~” she whispered, then darted into the nearby bushes with the grace of a seasoned hunter.
After hearing a lot of leaves rustling and branches snapping, she emerged out of the thicket, holding a small, squirming bunny by the ears.
“Looks like luck’s on our side~” she teased, walking over to Vivian, who gulped nervously.

“Are you ready, dear?” Fayanna asked gently.
“I-I think so!” Vivian stammered, her heart pounding.
She opened her mouth hesitantly as Fayanna lowered the bunny toward her waiting tongue. The little creature thrashed slightly, but Vivian took a breath and swallowed.
Though it wasn’t as easy as she thought it was.
Vivian struggled, her cheeks puffed and her throat strained as the bunny slid down. Finally, with a loud gulp, it was done.
She dropped to her haunches, panting, one paw on her now-squirming belly.

Fayanna knelt beside her, gently rubbing her stomach. “Nicely done, love~”
Vivian blushed, a cute little burp escaping her lips as she nodded. “Th-thanks”
The Kitsune would continue rubbing Vivian’s belly, helping her break down that large meal. Some time passed before the pink fox let out another shy burp, which rounded out her belly, as it started digesting it’s prey.

Fayanna smirked and gave her belly a soft poke. “Alright, time for the next step. You need to bring your prey back.
Just breathe, close your eyes, and look inward, into your soul. You should see a light. Follow it.”
Vivian did as she was told, drawing slow breaths. In her mind’s eye, the world faded, replaced by a space-like realm.
She floated toward a glowing light, drawn in by its warmth. As she got closer, a small floating island appeared.
On that island a small bunny was happily hopping around, the bunny she just ate and digested.
“Now,” Fayanna’s voice echoed through the void, “place your hand on it, and think about letting it go.”
Vivian stepped forward, kneeling beside the bunny. She placed her hand gently on its back and focused, heart steady.
A soft glow enveloped them both.

With a quiet gasp, Vivian opened her eyes.
The bunny was now sitting in her lap, looking up at her with calm eyes.
Fayanna smiled, reaching into her pocket and offering the bunny a little treat, which it accepted gratefully before hopping away into the woods.
“Well done, Viv~ Looks like you are a natural.” she said proudly, helping the young fox to her feet.
“We’d better get you home though. You look like you could use a nap.”
Vivian gave a tired but happy nod as they walked back together, the sun starting to set behind them.
