Saku nervously peeked their head into the office of the collie. Initially the red-headed hound typing away at her desk paid her her no mind, hmming her way through some email chain or report or something similarly demanding. At least for a moment; the shift in air pressure or the appearance of Saku's head in the door way didn't go unnoticed for long.

"Come in, come in - and go ahead and close the door behind you," Sofia greeted the anxious feeling welcomingly, "Lemme just send this off... annnnd okay!"

Sofia stood a bit and welcomed Saku over, indicating a seat in-front of her broad desk, as the canine sat lightly on the corner to converse with them more informally. As Saku walked over, they couldn't help not notice the still quiet in the air. In the absence of Sofias key strokes there was just the occasional woosh-fwoosh of a PC fan and the AC unit above. The little rows of offices embedded into Sofias office wall - a (highly space-efficient) peculiarity at ZakuraTech - were all vacant. None of the tiny office chatter or shuffling going on. Just quiet and still.

"Ahem," Sofia cleared her through with polite impatience as Saku hurried their pace up.

"Well kitten," Sofia mused, reaching back to her desk to collect a loose pile of papers on them. Charts and graphs glittering in bright contrast as she looked them over. "I got good news, and bad news. Which would you like first?"

Saku bit their lip. End on a high note, they supposed. Just rip the bandage off. "uh.. bad part first I guess?"

"Well kitty cat, looks we're downsizing your department." Sofia said bluntly, leaning the paper forwards towards them. An abundance of red arrows greatly outnumbered the hopeful lime green ones.

"T-the whole thing? What about me where am I - ' Saku started before Sofia raised her hand.

"Yeah, about that." Sofia reached back over the monitor to set the papers down. But when she lifted her hand the sleek chrome glint of a ZAPR - a proprietary resizing tool - caught in the LED lighting. The gun shaped piece of tech was used to adjust the height of equipm,ent, products and occasionally... people. Its industrial gleam shone worryingly, bejeweled with red and cyan indicators that flashed with hazardous warning tones.

Saku stood abruptly and backward away as Sofia advanced, the device held in-front of her in a secure grip. The office wasn't that big. Saku soon found themselves pinned against the wall as the taller collie strode right up to them and pressed the barrel of the device against her throat. Her other hand slapped against the wall - halting any attempt to flee towards the door as Sofia closed in. The lavender-cinnamon of her perfume swirled with the semi-sour tones of noon-coffee and cigarette smoke on her breath; "The good news, is that we have a new position open for you.."
